People use Wednesdai to plan private events and invite their friends and family. Hosts send invitations by email, or by texting the invite link from their own phone. Wednesdai texts a guest only if the guest asks for texts on the event's RSVP page. The steps below show where a guest gives consent. The examples use made-up names.
1The guest receives an invitation from the host
Hi Jordan,
You're invited to Maya's birthday weekend. We're getting everyone together and want you there!

The host sends this from their own phone and number, using their usual messaging app. Wednesdai does not send it. Neither kind of invitation signs the guest up for texts from Wednesdai.
2The guest opts in on the RSVP page (the point of consent)

The checkbox is unchecked by default. A guest gets texts only if they tick it themselves. The RSVP saves whether or not the box is ticked, and a guest who leaves it unticked gets no texts from Wednesdai. The host cannot tick it for a guest.
3The guest receives a confirmation, then event updates
Texts go only to the number the guest entered, and only about the event they opted in for.
Our commitments
- We text only guests who check the box on the RSVP page. Hosts cannot sign guests up for texts.
- Texts are only about the event the guest signed up for. We do not send marketing texts.
- Mobile numbers and text-message opt-in data are never sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes.
- Replying STOP ends all texts from Wednesdai to that number. Replying HELP returns our contact details.
- We keep a record of when each guest opted in and the consent wording they saw.
